Echoes of Mora, a cozy underwater exploration game, receives a major update to the public Steam Demo

 

Selkies Interactive is thrilled to announce a significant update to the Echoes of Mora demo, now available on Steam. Following its successful debut at Gamescom 2025, where it captured the imagination of players with its captivating underwater world and atmospheric storytelling, the development team has returned with a refined experience based on invaluable community feedback.

Echoes of Mora invites players into a mysterious, submerged realm, where they help young Mora on her quest to find her missing brother, uncovering secrets of a time-lost, flooded village. The game is praised for its gripping narrative and immersive environments, presented through both VR and non-VR modes.

In response to constructive feedback concerning the swimming mechanics in VR mode, Selkies Interactive has overhauled the entire swimming system. The newly revamped mechanics promise a more fluid and intuitive diving experience, enhancing immersion and player control in the fantastical depths of the game’s world. Instead of relying on gesture recognition that required precise arm movements, the system now tracks any motion players make and converts it into movement using direction and velocity.

In addition to the reimagined swimming controls, the update includes localization for six new languages (including Simplified Chinese, Japanese, and Ukrainian), visual updates, mode-switching between PC and VR, a more accessible simplified swimming mode for VR, and various enhancements to improve overall gameplay.
