Orbyss Turns Solo Puzzling into Quantum-Level Brain Bending
Welcome to Orbyss, a visually stunning, mind-expanding logic puzzle game where strategic thinking and creative problem-solving collide in a world of light and shadow. Developed and published by Misty Whale, Orbyss invites players into a mysterious, bioluminescent realm where thinking ahead, switching between Orbs, and bending time are the keys to restoring light to a world under siege.
In Orbyss, you are a luminous firefly of energy, navigating from Orb to Orb to solve intricate puzzles and push back a growing darkness. You’ll combine mechanics like time-freezing, drone flying, and sound-based puzzles (with full accessibility support) to overcome shadowy threats and restore harmony to your fragmented world.
“Orbyss is about transformation - of the world and of your own perception,” says Game Creator Yannick Audéoud. “I wanted to create a puzzle game that feels logical but alive. Each room is like a poem of precision - no pixel-perfect jumps, no stress, just pure mental flow.”
Inspired by the likes of Portal and Tron, and featuring music from Pierre Estève (Atlantis series), Orbyss offers a meditative yet intense journey through 40+ handcrafted puzzles, punctuated by atmospheric cutscenes and dramatic boss encounters.
KEY GAMEPLAY FEATURES
Simultaneous Orb Control – Be in multiple places at once. Switch between Orbs to activate switches, open gates, and manipulate time and space in uniquely crafted puzzles. This unique feature brings co-op like mechanics in a solo game.
Freeze Time, Fly Drones, Compose Sound – Mix a variety of mechanics across eight distinct chapters. Use visual cues for sound-based puzzles to make the game fully playable without audio.
A World of Light vs. Shadow – Travel through a dazzling yet hostile universe of abstract geometry, neon lifeforms, and creeping corruption.
Designed for Your Brain, Not Your Reflexes – Every puzzle offers clean, logical solutions. No glitches, no twitch timing - just elegant design and slow-paced strategy.
