1. WHAT WAS THE FIRST GAME THAT YOU'VE PLAYED THAT MADE YOU FALL IN LOVE WITH
GAMING?

Yasin E. Işıldar (Level Designer); Dragon Age Origins. Properties such as the depth of the background stories and the roleplay being one of the best have always placed this game in a different place for me. However, what really matters to me has been the flow of level designs.
Berkan B. Bayındır (3D Artist); World of Warcraft. The huge and epic world of Warcraft had me drawn in, both with its lore and its art. Like many artists, Blizzard's design language inspired me.
Furkan E. Işıldar (UI/UX Designer) Tomb Raider. It has always fascinated me with its story and adventure. In addition, it has a special place for me as it is a game that has set the standards in its genre.
Berk Bayındır (Game Dİrector) Kult Heretic Kingdoms. When I met Baldur's Gate when I was still in elementary school, it taught me that playing games is not so different from reading books, it has the power to drag you into different worlds. However, the idea that the limits of creativity could be pushed so hard with Kult blew my mind. This is one of the biggest factors in choosing the name of our studio. Innovation and creativity.

2. HOW DID YOU GET INTO GAME DEVELOPMENT?

Earlier, our Game Designer, UI designer and 3D Artist in our team were continued their careers in the game industry. Our level designer was also a planning engineer in the private sector. Since we were childhood friends, we always had a dream of working together. After our level designer left his job, we thought it was time to bring this plan to life. And here we are.


3. HOW DID COME UP WITH THE NAME OF YOUR STUDIO AND HOW MANY PEOPLE ARE UNDER
IT?

In the process of making the plan a reality, we took our coffees and brainstormed what the name of our studio should be. It was always on our minds to innovate and to get people to witness what we admire. But we also thought that the majority of people would be unaware of our games. For this reason, we chose the name of the studio as "unknown novelty".
We can also say that we are 4 hobbits working under this studio.




4. WHAT WAS THE INSPIRATION BEHIND THE NAME DISTINCTION?

Berk Bayındır: Woew actually this might be a spoiler, so I'm going to be a little secretive about it. As the name suggests, Distinction, while expressing separation, symbolizes reaching different bodies, changing form and reaching the limits of knowledge of human consciousness.


5. WHERE DOES INSPIRATION TAKES PLACE?

Alien, Dead Space and Lovecraftian examples were very successful references for us in creating the story. These examples, be it design or consistency, were the examples that impressed us the most and inspired the beginning of our story.


6. WHO IS THE PROTAGONIST IN THE GAME?

We can say that Reuel Gray is the protagonist or the main victim of this story. He is a volunteer for scientific research.



7. WHAT ENGINE ARE YOU USING FOR THIS GAME AND WHY?

We are using Unreal Engine 4. We found it both common and more supportive in doing what we wanted.


8. TELL US ABOUT SOME OF THE SCARY ASPECTS OF THIS THRILLER IN SPACE?

Think of it this way, you are in space. You are in a place where no one can reach you, and besides, you are all alone. Your cry for help will reach nowhere and no one. I guess that would be something most people would not want.


9. WILL THERE BE ANY PUZZLES TO SOLVE IN THIS GAME? IF SO WHAT TYPES?

We are developing a psychological thriller game focused on atmosphere and story rather than a horror game focused on puzzle solving




10. HOW DARK ARE YOU GOING WITHIN THIS GAME AS FAR AS THE HORROR SIDE TO IT?

As much as a liminal space photograph makes you nervous, our level of fear will be at this level. But we also want to keep it at a level that shows how deep one's mind can go.


11. THE PEOPLE WANT TO KNOW IS THIS MORE SO OF A FPS OR A TPS?

The distinction is a psychological thriller fps game.


12. IN THE FUTURE WILL THERE BE ANY DLC FOR THE GAME?

For those who like psychological thrillers and walking simulator games, we recommend them to try it as it is a new breath.It is a game that has a definite beginning and end, and has integrity within itself.


13. WHY SHOULD PEOPLE WANT TO PLAY THIS GAME DAY ONE?

14. WHEN WILL THE DISTINCTION RELEASE AND WHAT PLATFORMS WILL IT BE ON?

We plan to release it on the Steam platform in the first quarter of 2023.
