007 First Light Releases Free Starter Pack Featuring the Opening Mission

Getting a first taste of a new game before committing to the full experience can make all the difference, especially when it involves stepping into the shoes of one of gaming's most recognizable secret agents. IO Interactive is giving players that opportunity with a free Starter Pack for 007 First Light, allowing them to experience the beginning of James Bond's latest adventure without purchasing the full game.

The Starter Pack is available now and includes the game's opening mission, giving players access to the Prologue. The studio has also released a new trailer showcasing the free offering.

In the opening mission, Bond is serving as an aircrewman when his aircraft is shot down. Stranded in hostile territory, he must find a way through enemy positions while working to rescue civilians. It introduces players to the game's approach to stealth, action, and navigating dangerous situations before Bond's larger adventure gets underway.

A Free Introduction to Bond's Latest Adventure

The Starter Pack arrives shortly after IO Interactive introduced a one-hour trial of 007 First Light for PlayStation Plus Premium and Deluxe subscribers. The new free offering provides another way for interested players to experience the game, although its contents are limited to the opening mission rather than the complete adventure.

For players who decide to continue, the full game offers a mixture of stealth, combat, and mission-based choices. Bond's approach to different situations can shape how encounters play out, giving players room to decide when to remain undetected and when to take a more direct route.

IO Interactive has also expanded the experience with additional features, including the challenging 00 difficulty and New Game Plus. These additions provide further reasons for players who have already completed the adventure to return and test their skills.

Nintendo Switch 2 players will have to wait a little longer to join Bond's mission, with the game scheduled to arrive on the platform on March 18, 2027.

For anyone who has been curious about IO Interactive's take on James Bond, the free Starter Pack offers a convenient starting point. Players can experience the opening mission and decide whether they want to follow Bond through the rest of his adventure.
